Matthew Hiatt serves as our pulpit minister. You can expect to see him in the pulpit preaching and in the classrooms teaching on a regular basis. Matthew began full-time pulpit work in January of 2011 after James Hinkle retired. He began his work at Burns in the spring of 2006 as an associate, working alongside James in the teaching and preaching ministries.

Matthew enjoys working with our young people and plays with all these whistles and bells we call technology. He is an active member of the Dickson County Jail Chaplaincy where he serves as a volunteer and board member. He enjoys time with his family, motorcycling, disc golf, and photography. He graduated Freed-Hardeman University in 2006 with degrees in Bible and Computer Science. He completed his Master’s of Ministry in 2011 from Harding University and is currently working on his Doctorate of Ministry from Knox Theological Seminary.

Matthew maintains office hours Monday-Thursday in the little white building at the corner of College and Church. Please call the church office at 615 441 3984 if you’d like to make an appointment, or stop by anytime you see his car or motorcycle there!
