A great thing about the Christian faith is that God has a place for each one of us. Another good thing is that the place isn’t the same for each and every one of us!

Each member of the Lord’s body has a different responsibility. The apostle Paul used a good analogy about the body in 1 Corinthians 12. To sum it up, he said “As it is, there are many parts, but one body.” (1 Corinthians 12:20).

The ministries we have at Burns are opportunities for different members of the body to do what God meant them to do. Take a look around and see what’s going on and see where you will fit in!

We have tried to identify each of the major areas of ministry that Burns conducts, and recognize a contact person or coordinator for each ministry. We want you to serve in the ministry for which God has most prepared you. If you have any questions about a particular ministry, please see the coordinator.

Finances — Keith Oliver. The finance ministry takes care of the books, making sure we manage God’s funds at Burns in the best possible way. They are involved in daily details like depositing the contribution, making payroll, and keeping the lights on.

Building & Grounds — Jeff Kuhns. This ministry is responsible for the upkeep and improvement of our facilities, to benefit the congregation and the community. They schedule the building for rental, plan upgrades and improvements, and generally keep our building running smoothly and safely.

Technology — Matthew Hiatt. This ministry supports many other ministries. They make sure that the sound system works for services, this website is kept up-to-date, and that teachers have whatever technological tools they need.

Missions — Glenn Buffington. This team keeps contact with our missionaries and benevolence organizations. They process requests for funds, and keep the congregation informed and in contact with all of our mission works.

Bible Study & Education — Jerry Hall. This team plans our classes, finds teachers, and does whatever possible to encourage and supplement the Bible study of our members and our community.

Worship Services — James Hinkle. This team is responsible for planning for our worship assemblies, making sure we have speakers and song leaders, and preparing the Lord’s Supper. They facilitate the details of our Sunday morning meetings.

Family Activities — John Gabriel. This team has its hands full! They coordinate activities for fellowship and growth for the Burns family. They plan the couples’ retreat, nights out, and our special events. Within this ministry falls youth ministry, couples’ ministry, and even church member golf outings.

Visitation and Benevolence — Charlie Dauphin. This team helps make sure that no one falls through the cracks. They deliver the Lord’s Supper to the sick. They send cards to visitors and members, and provide transportation for those who need it.
