Family,

Our elders have decided to cancel in person services on 11/22 and 11/29 in addition to our Wednesday gatherings during both weeks.

Thank you for being so understanding and supportive. Nobody went to school for “what’s the best thing to do in pandemics and panics,” so we’re doing the best we can.

The elders made this decision for several reasons. They want to protect the health of our congregation and community. They want to look out for the vulnerable. They want to protect our reputation in the community. Nonbelievers have been outspoken in criticizing churches that meet as being uncaring and foolish. We don’t want to give the body of Christ a black eye. We want to respect what our President and Governor have recommended and do what we can to limit the effects of this outbreak.

We’re going to treat this as an opportunity to learn how to connect in new ways. Our phones still work. Our computers still work. The post office still works. We are going to use this time to grow closer and show the world how Christians act when difficult times come.

If you would like to pick up communion packets, they are available in the Fellowship Hall. (Call or text Matthew or Penny for information on how to get in.)

You’ll be able to stream a service Sunday at 10:30am on our YouTube and Facebook channels.

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control!

Matthew
