This was the tenth year that our kids participated in Bible Bowl. It’s hard to believe that it’s been that long. Each year, our young people spend several weeks studying approximately 20-25 chapters of scripture in preparation for a test given in Cookeville, TN. Young people from several states and over 100 congregations meet together. It’s a really encouraging day.
Here is a look back at their ten years of work:
This year’s topic was a collection of several of Paul’s letters: 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, and Philemon. It was a tough year! While those are short books, they have a lot of similar content, but our kids worked hard and learned a lot about what the Spirit had to say to these believers who went before us.
Congratulations are especially in order for Kaiya Gabriel who completed her tenth year of Bible Bowl with us, as well as Stephen and Brice Petty who earned their five year awards.
Special thanks goes to Kassidy Jones who described what may be the best Bible Bowl t-shirt we’ve ever hard. (By the way, we got them printed by ooShirts.com and they did a fantastic job! We even had to put in a second order because people saw them and liked them so much!)
Below is a video recap of what we did this year and some pictures. Bible Bowl is open to any student who has not yet graduated high school. There is no bottom age, so long as they are able to sit in a chair and raise cards to answer questions. Bible Bowl is a great program to learn more about Scripture and fellowship with friends in the process.
