There’s a preacher-story about a kindergarten teacher who was watching her students during art time. She asked one little girl what she was drawing. “I’m drawing God!” The teacher smiled and said, “But no one knows what God looks like.” Without missing a beat, the little girl looked up and said, “Once I’m finished they will!”
Sunday School is a special part of our congregation. It’s a place for all of us, young and old, to gather around the Bible to learn the great stories of the faith and our part in God’s grand story. Today marks the beginning of a new quarter of classes here at Burns. Let me encourage you: don’t waste this good opportunity!
Here’s what’s going on for everyone in our next quarter of Sunday School:
Sunday Morning (9am) | Wednesday Night (6:45pm) | |
Toddlers (1-3 years old) | Kim, Alicia, and Kathy | Sarah |
Elementary (K-5th Grade) | Brenda and Donna | Carolyn |
Junior High (6th-8th Grade) | Harriett and Diane | Lori |
Senior High (9th-12th Grade) | Butch and Randy | Eric and Sandy |
Adults (The rest of us!) | “A Life That Matters: A Study of Psalms, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes” taught by various men | “We Would See Jesus: A Study of the Life of Christ” at 4:30 and 6:45 in the Media Room |

Sticky Faith is a study for parents and their high schoolers about developing faith that “sticks” and discussing why, too often, it doesn’t.
One more note: beginning next Sunday – we’re going to have a special alternate class this quarter. Our parents and teens are going to get together to study the idea of “Sticky Faith.” I know that you’ll benefit from this special time together!
